PRESENCE AND POWER ON THE STAGE
Signature Speech Creation For Purposeful OC Leaders
Starts February 22nd at Antis Campus in Irvine
-Christopher Ticknor
Chief Transformation Officer, United Way of Orange County
In this intimate* and highly-interactive three month live and virtual journey, you will:
- Develop a signature speech as you break your stories and insights in half and put them together again with greater coherence.
- Enhance your presence and effectiveness as a speaker as you learn and practice the techniques of experts on the big and small stage.
- Learn a framework that will shape your journey and inform future talks.
- Improve your storytelling as you shape and share your improved opening story and supporting stories to fold into your talk.
- Sharpen your key messages to enhance memorability and cohesion. Work to better connect them to your greater speech.
- Define and refine goals that clarify your reason for speaking and areas of growth, and depict what success looks like.
- Test and try new material as you tell and retell stories and practice methods in class and on LinkedIn.
- Learn from leaders around you as you build relationships with others on the journey.
- Become a better listener and advisor as you practice giving feedback to those leaders around you based on the goals and story shaping parameters we've set.
- Have fun!
Some questions we'll address:
- How do you make your speech memorable and seamlessly include your most important messages?
- How do you optimize for impact and inspiration?
- Where do you start?
- How do you organize it? What do you cut? What do you keep?
- How do you bring life to your words?
- How do you find, shape and tell supporting stories effectively, yet without skipping the important parts?
- How do you fit in the right examples and metaphors?
